Unknown P.O.V

I see everything he does. I feel everything he does. I want to stop him, with all my heart. I can't bear to see what he is doing to the one I love. The one who is mine. Who I was destined to be with. To feel so useless, unworthy and disgusted with myself. I want to help, I need to help. But how could I. I don't even know how to stop him. But I do know one thing. I will stop him and I will be with the one I was destined to be with. No matter what.

Caine's P.O.V

After reading what I thought was the worst news of my life, my feelings of anger and betrayal were so overwhelming I had to get out before I hurt Jeff. I threw the book out the window making sure the earth covered it when it hit the ground. I jumped out the window and flew myself, with my air power, over until I landed on a tree branch. Using earth as a guide I make my way through the deserted forest.

After swinging for five minutes with tears running down my face, I find myself in a clearing I had only been to once before. When I first arrived in Mount Sita I went through the forest for a walk to let out all my stress. Since I had left I had been feeling down. Leaving behind everyone I knew was easy, it was leaving behind my home that was hard. I had lived there nearly all my life and even though I hadn't been on my first mission yet it felt like being in that school itself was a mission. Having to keep my secret from everyone. It was horrible.

I walk into the middle of the clearing and found myself calming down as I start to create a little fountain. After it is done I fill it with water. When it was completed I found myself staring at a beautiful fountain. It had a wolf on it with branches coming off it that had an element on each branch. Around it, it had pot holes filled with Fire Lilies scattered in them. I stared at it in awe and suddenly felt myself calm down completely.

I stayed in the clearing for hours practising each element. I had learnt to control water, air and earth the quickest with fire being a little more difficult. Since fire wasn't controlled easily by humans, it definitely was hard for me to control it too. I had only gotten the trick of it last year and even then I still had trouble sometimes. I ended up shifting into my wolf to release all the stress that had built up over the days. My fur had grown longer and it definitely needed a trim, which I'm sure Jeff will do, and it had come to have a certain shine on it.

After running around for a while I hear a snap coming from the direction behind me. I whip around to found nothing there. Deciding I've had long enough to cool down, I shift back to human and make my way back home.

At home I see Jeff in the kitchen. Not wanting to talk to him or anyone for that matter I use air to levitate myself up stairs and to my room. I go to my window and see a corner of the book sticking out of the ground. I gig it up and throw all of the excess dirt. When it is cleaned and my stomach starts to rumble I head down stairs to find Jeff just dishing out tea. Sausages, vegetables and potatoes.

"Hey Caine. Where were you all day?" Jeff asks politely but with curious, questioning eyes.

"Um...uh...uh out." I say all flustered.

"Okay. Where?"

"Some place." I say.

"Ugh gosh darn it Caine tell me what's wrong. I can see the red rims around your eyes that immediately indicates you have been crying and you don't cry much. Now tell me before I have to force it out of you." He yelled frantically waving his hands around like a headless chicken. I couldn't help but laugh and soon enough he was joining in too.

When we managed to stop his face grew serious again and he repeated his question.

"What is wrong Caine?"

I sigh. “Well I'm just stressed." And once again I'm lying. I don't know why I just don't tell him, but I feel like something bad would happen if I did. " I have this big test next Monday that counts for 50% of my grade. I just feel like I'm not going to pass it."

"Oh is that why you were crying?" He asks suspiciously. Probably suspecting I'm lying. Well I am but he doesn't need to know that.

“Yeah. If I don't pass this I'm going to have to repeat this year next year. I don't want to do that. All my friends would be graduating and I would be stuck doing another year. I just don't want that to happen."

With that his face softens and he comes around and gives me a pat on the back.

"I'm sure if you asked Melanie she would help. I mean she is really smart for her age. I'm sure she wouldn't mind if you ask her." He says being supportive. If only he knew I was passing with flying colours.

"Yeah I'm sure you're right. Thanks for this talk. It helped a lot." I say smiling a fake smile but trying to act grateful.

"No problem champs. Now go to bed. You are going to get up super early tomorrow to go for a run. I have decided you don't need any more training from me and that you can do it on your own now. Having spent ten years training at the academy and an extra four years training with me you are a fighting pro. By the way, from what I have seen you are doing great mastering your elemental powers and it's not like I can teach you anything. It's not like I have your ninja powers is it. "

Something flashed in his eyes when he said that but I couldn't tell what.

"Night." I tell him and head up to my room and get ready for bed. I go to sleep as soon as my head reaches the pillow.
