(AN: I can't believe this fan fic has over 150 views. I know it's not much compared to others but to me it's loads. Thank you all so so much for reading this. I'm so grateful. I hope you enjoy this chapter)
I woke up to find Levi wasn't there. Was it a dream? I checked my phone. The messages I sent to Levi about him coming over were still there. It wasn't a dream. Levi really did come over and... he helped me sleep. It might've been something small to anyone else but to me this was huge. I was so happy. I finally had a good nights sleep. Dreamless, peaceful sleep. I got off the sofa and realised I hadn't taken a shower in ages. I ran upstairs and ran the shower, waiting for the water to warm up. I checked my phone for any new messages. There was one. I opened up the message and gasped in joy, a smile plastered on my face when I saw who it was by.
Levi. New message sent at 9:47am
Hey brat. Sleep alright?
I checked the time. It was 10:32. Mikasa already left for work so I sent her a small text telling her I was ok and that I was awake. As soon as I sent that, I quickly texted back Levi.
Yeah. I did actually. Really well. Thank you so much. I know it was probably a lot of trouble but I'm really grateful. I'll make it up to you.
I got undressed and place the phone on the windowsill in the bathroom. I placed my hand under the shower water to see if it was warm yet and it was so I climbed in and washed my self, feeling the wonderful warm water clean my skin. It felt so nice. I started to wash myself feeling a lot better as I was getting cleaner. My phone gave out a vibrating sound Probably Mikasa. I told myself but I was hoping it was really Levi. I got out and dried myself, wrapping the towel around my waist, picking up my phone and checking it.
Mikasa. New message sent now.
That's good to hear. Be careful ok?
Hm. She didn't mention Levi. He probably left before she arrived.
I will. Thanks. What time will you be back?
Around 9
Ok. See you then.
I got dressed and lay in my bed, re-thinking everything that happened yesterday. Tracing back the conversations we had. Remembering how it felt when he pulled me to his chest... I loved him so much, my heart ached for him and I didn't even realise it until now. I plugged my headphones into my phone, put my earphones on, allowing the music to take me away from reality, turning the volume to maximum level. I wish Levi were here. I didn't even bother to push away the thoughts anymore. I had accepted that I fell in love with that beautiful, cold but caring, short yet perfect man. I didn't stop anything from coming into my head anymore. It was too much effort. There was one problem though. I don't know how long I can handle "just being friends" if we're even friends that is. I sighed and closed my eyes. Then I heard my phone vibrate. Ugh. What does Mikasa want now? I turned on my phone but it wasn't Mikasa. It was the text I had been expecting for how long? I checked the time. 11:00? It's only been 30minutes? But it's seemed like an eternity. I need help. I laughed to myself and read the text he sent me.
You don't need to do anything. It's fine.
But I caused so trouble
Brat. You asked for help. I gave it to you. By choice. As much as I hate to admit it. You didn't cause any trouble ok so just leave it.
So you looking after me for 3 days was absolutely no trouble at all? Please? I want to.
Ugh. Fine. Where should we meet?
Where we normally do. Duh. I'm going to be there in about 20 minutes ok?
Ok. See you then.
I turned off my phone and put it in my pocket. I had something in mind. I put on my shoes and black jacket on and left the house, holding the key I had around my neck. I can't lose this one. I tucked it in my shirt and walked to the river, seeing Levi waiting on the other side.
"Sorry if I kept you waiting for too long."
"It's fine. I only just arrived." He said, keeping his expressionless expression. I smiled and said "Meet you at the bridge." And I ran up the river to the bridge. It was a little grey but there were patches of blue sky in the sky above. It wasn't as beautiful as the day had been at other times, but it was still nice.
"Come on. This time I'm showing you my side." I said as I saw Levi approaching.
"Tch. Whatever. It's not your side though. You know that, right?"
"Yeah I know and I know you've been there, but you called it the outside so..."
"When did I call it the outside?"
"You know, when you took me to show your town and I started acting weird and you said "why are you acting like this? You live here right?" Or something like that and I said no then you said "*gasp* you don't live on the outside right?" Then images and shit like that started appearing in my mind and then I passed out." I said, quite confident, no, certain that that happened.
"What the fuck are you actually talking about Jaeger?"
"That's what happened before I was out for three days."
"That's not what happened." "What? You mean I imagined it all?" But that's impossible. I remember that happening.
"I don't know but none of that shit happened."
"Then what happened?" He rolled his eyes, took off his shoes and walked across, slipping them back on when he reached the other side. "I'll tell you but can we start going now? I'll tell you on the way. Where are you taking me anyway?"
"You'll see. Just tell me what happened."
"Then shut up and let me talk." He said putting his hands in his pockets as he started walking. I walked beside him, confused and eager to hear about what happened.
"After I took you to show the city I live in you looked around and stopped walking, looking at the wall. You asked about it and I told you it was the outside wall and that there are others further in. Then you started shaking and before I knew it you were lying unconscious in front of me. I had to carry you all the way back to my house so it's good to know your grateful for it." He said. I don't remember any of that. My head has been so messed up lately.
"Oh. Well thanks for telling me..." I trailed off, trying to figure out how my mind came up with that.
"Anyways it's over now. Don't stress to much about it." I heard him say.
"Hm... ok." I lead him into the town centre. "So this is the town centre."
"I can see that. So where are you taking me?"
"We're nearly there." I kept walking until we arrived. "We're here." We were at my favourite cafe. It was called "Wings of Freedom". A picture of two wings, one blue, one white, the white crossing over the blue a little, was painted underneath the sigh. The windows were tinted a little black, so you couldn't see through them properly unless you held your face against the glass, and the building was painted back but the door was painted white. The reason I took Levi here was because 1. I hadn't had any breakfast yet and I was hungry and 2. It was a cafe which was peaceful and not too busy. Even though it was a Saturday morning I could see through the window that there were, at the most, 10 people in there.
"Wings of Freedom?" I heard Levi ask.
"Mhm. Have you had anything to eat yet?"
"No."
"How convenient." I smiled then walked in, gesturing Levi to follow me.
"Hm. It's quiet in here."
"One of the many reasons why I love this place." I sat down at a table. "I know this isn't much."
"It's fine. It's actually clean in here and not busy. It's growing on me." He said, looking away, leaning back on his chair.
"Hello. My name is Petra. Are you ready to take your order?" The waitress said when she arrived at our table. I've been here God knows how many times, so I knew what I was having. Levi, however, had just picked up the menu.
"Could you just give us a minute to decide?" I asked politely.
"Yes. Of course." She smiled at Levi and winked at him. A small, no, more like medium sized, rush of jealousy ran through me. She was really pretty and Levi probably thought so too. Ugh. He's never going to like me in this rate. No chance. Doubt he's even gay. I held in my jealousy not showing it, ignoring what just happened as Levi was too.
"You're paying for this brat. You know that right?"
"First of all, that is no way to speak to the person paying for your breakfast." I said in a jokingly way. "And second of all, yes I am paying."
"Hm. What's the most expensive thing on here?" I heard him mutter.
"Sorry but I don't have that much money." I said, laughing nervously, rubbing the back of my neck.
"Oh that's too bad. I was really looking forward to having the chocolate, ice cream sundae which is probably too much to eat and is probably a lot bigger than me in size." He said sarcastically. I laughed too hard at that but it was funny and reassuring that Levi could joke a bit too. "Ok brat. Calm down. It wasn't that funny. I know I'm short but you don't need to rub it in like that."
"Sorry sorry." I said calming myself down. "It's just nice to know you can make fun of yourself. That your not as serious as I thought you were."
"Tch. Whatever." He said, rolling his eyes. Eventually Levi chose what he wanted and we were ready to order. I hadn't laughed or smiled that much since my parents died. We talked and ate. I laughed but Levi didn't. I wanted to see him smile though. To hear him laugh. I wanted to be the one to make him do those things.
Finally we finished and the bill came. It wasn't too expensive so I didn't mind paying at all. The waitress came back to take the money and I saw her slip something into Levi's jacket, that was slung over the chair, while he wasn't looking. It was a small piece of paper. Hmm... Levi put on his jacket and we walked outside. The sky was starting to look like it could rain any minute now. We started to walk when Levi put his hands in his pockets.
"What the fu-" he said taking out a piece of paper. He looked at it and groaned, throwing it away. "What was it?" I asked.
"That waitress snuck her number in my pocket."
"Oh. Did you not like her much then?"
"It's not that I don't like her. I mean I don't like her but that isn't the main reason. I'm not into girls. That's all there is to it." He said. You mean he's gay? He's gay?! Oh my god. This is amazing. I can't believe it. He's actually gay. I said that over and over again, trying not to show how happy I was.
"Oh ok." I simply smiled. "Same with me. I've never been interested in girls."
"Hm. Guess we're on the same boat then."
"Guess we are." Suddenly I felt droplets of water hit my head. It was starting raining and a lot too.
"Shit. I didn't bring an umbrella. Although I don't mind the rain much." I said putting my head up to feel the water hit my face.
"Well I do so let's hurry up." And with that, we started running to the river.
(AN: Woah. That was a long chapter. Sorry if this is moving too slowly. Next chapter will have more Ereri. Don't worry. I just don't want to rush into things. Thank you so much for reading. It's means a lot to me. I think from now on I will post a chapter ever other day. Hope you liked it. 😊)
